Welcome to Plant Operations

Plant Operations has the responsibility for the maintenance, grounds, housekeeping and motor vehicle maintenance for the University. In addition, we are also responsible for purchased utilities, parking maintenance, recycling, and preventive maintenance.

Requests for service can be made by contacting the Work Center at 419-530-1000. This group documents all customer requests on a work order, and gives the request to the appropriate manager for scheduling and implementation. Requests for service can be made in one of the following ways:

After business hours, all urgent or emergency work requests are routed to the University Police Dispatch at (419) 530-2600, where phones are answered 365 days per year 24 hours per day. The Police Dispatcher will contact the appropriate manager, and personnel will respond as quickly as possible.

MISSION STATEMENT The Plant Operations Department is an organization of qualified individuals dedicated to the common goal of maintaining a physical environment that promotes education, research, and community service.  As an integral Facilities Management division, the Plant Operations Department is committed to support the overall mission of the University by sharing a sense of purpose and ownership with the institution through effective organizational structure, operational efficiency and competent fiscal management.
